Gotta’ Connect With Your Constituents

In election politics, the key to getting elected is appealing to the voters.

If a person wanted to court the vote of a rural community where hunting is a popular past-time, he/she would not vocally condemn guns….

It says a lot about the state of Utah when a state senator would go on the record saying things like this……….

“Homosexuality will always be a sexual perversion. And you say that around here now and everybody goes nuts. But I don’t care. “

“They’re mean. They want to talk about being nice. They’re the meanest buggers I have ever seen.”

“It’s just like the Muslims. Muslims are good people and their religion is anti-war. But it’s been taken over by the radical side.”

“What [are] the morals of a gay person? You can’t answer that because anything goes.”

“They’re probably the greatest threat to America going down I know of.”

I’m not gay, but I find these remarks to be patently offensive…..But allegedly state senator Chris Buttars does not. He repeatedly says things that our most offensive relative wouldn’t even say.
